Real Time Monitoring of Soundscapes of Restoration

The Coastal Conservatory uses stream boxes to monitor soundscapes of restoration. Since 2020 we have used the stream box to collect long term audio in ghost forests, barrier islands and oyster reefs in the Virginia Coast Reserve. Hurricanes and the remoteness of the barrier islands have proved challenging to sustain an ongoing stream but when our streams are live, they link to the Locus Songs Sound Map at https://locusonus.org/soundmap/051/. Here  you can listen to a world wide network of sites streaming audio.
